Older Person’s Volunteer Advocate

During each contact, you will conduct assessments to identify any concerns, refer clients to appropriate support services, and ensure they receive the necessary assistance. Additionally, you will provide valuable feedback to help refine and improve the program, ensuring it better meets the needs of clients.
1) Support older people in East London Boroughs to make decisions and ensure their voices are heard when decisions are made about their lives. 2) Secure individuals' rights and help them access necessary services. 3) Assist people with decisions related to health and wellbeing, care planning, housing, and the suitability of their living accommodation. 4) Promote self-advocacy for service users. 5) Deliver non-statutory advocacy services. 6)Conduct low-level assessments during each contact, identifying any concerns and linking clients to appropriate support services. 7)Provide feedback to help with program development.

1) Good communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner 2) Solution and outcome focused 3) Committed to do at least 1 half-day (3.5 hours) per week 4) IT skills and the ability to navigate the internet via smart phone, tablet and/or PC when working from home 5) Applicants must by over the age of 18
