Volunteer Advice and Information Assistant

City & Hackney Carers Centre

City and Hackney Carers Centre works to support the unmet practical, emotional and social needs of carers. We are looking for a Volunteer Advice and Information Assistant to support us in the work that we do.

Detailed Description

We were founded in 1996 by a group of carers who were struggling to find support. They came together to create the Carers Centre; a one stop shop for unpaid carers living in the City of London and Hackney. Since then we have grown and now offer a range of needs-led support services that are accessible and appropriate. Working in our friendly team, you will help carers understand their rights and entitlements and support the work of the information and advice officers. You will work alongside our information and advice service coordinator who will train you on carers rights and entitlements and provide you with the opportunity to learn about welfare benefits advice and energy advice. We will provide you with an opportunity to attend other training courses such as safeguarding adults and children and will provide you with a written reference. You can claim travel expenses and lunch expenses (if volunteering for more than 4 hours) as per our volunteer policy.
