Distribution of leaflets. All round assistance with set up and take down of a room with tables, logging people in, helping customers, sorting fruit & veg,
Volunteers will be assisting with this Hackney Council backed community initiative to get fresh fruit and vegetables at affordable prices to local people. Based in one of three locations in Manor House, Hoxton and Stamford Hill for a minimum of 4 hours on one day, a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. You will be helping to establish long term community markets, run by the local community for the local community. You will help at various stages of set up to delivery, from getting the wholesale deliveries of surplus fresh produce to three locations: STAGE 1 Market Day Prep on Thursdays, through to helping the community markets; to assisting at one of the three markets: STAGE 2 Market Day on Fridays in 2 locations and Saturday at the other location.

Roles may vary: sorting produce and moving small boxes IT - helping people register, confirm orders, take payments Manage people - assist with orders and selection Organise, cleaning, tidying: set up and take down of tables etc for display and serving customers.
Gain community work experience and experience a start up project through to running and managing people.
