Neighbourhood Forums Researcher/Fact-Finder
Volunteer Centre Hackney
We are looking for a Fact-Finder/Outreach Supporter. You will work with us to find out more about topics that the Neighbourhoods Forums are working on, by collecting data and information from the community. This will support the team to identify and plan topics for the future, whilst helping gather experiences from residents that will support positive change to be made.
The Neighbourhood Forums are a place for people living and working in City & Hackney to come together and have a say about how to improve their health and wellbeing, and remove barriers to health care services. We are looking for community focused volunteers to get involved and help support the work we do. Are you curious about the why and how? Do you enjoy speaking to others and actively listening to their thoughts and experiences? Then you might be our new Fact-Finder/Outreach Supporter! You will work with us to find out more about topics that the Neighbourhoods Forums are working on, by collecting data and information from the community. This will support the team to identify and plan topics for the future, whilst helping gather experiences from residents that will support positive change to be made. Duties and responsibilities: • You will help with collecting surveys, including encouraging people to fill them in and talking through how and why surveys are being used to collect data and information about people’s lived experience. These may be a mix of online and in person surveys, and we will provide training to support you to do this. • You will have conversations with residents to find out what matters to them and recognise themes that are emerging. This may mean you need to attend in person sessions with groups of residents and you will receive training to be able to do this. • You will support the Resident Engagement Lead at Volunteer Centre Hackney to create plans for collecting information from residents. You will be the voice that helps us to make sure we are gathering information in the best way possible. Skills and attributes: • Be friendly, welcoming and ready to chat to new people • Open minded and ready to actively listen to others’ views without your own coming into play • Have great communication skills and a willingness to start conversations • Have an interest in collecting data or curious about how this happens • Positive and passionate about community forums/resident involvement • Positive and passionate about improving your community. Desirable skills and attributes but not necessary: • Have an understanding of NHS & Social Care Systems • Have in depth knowledge of your local area/neighbourhood • Have experience using online survey tools or similar • Speak a community language • Have previous experience in a similar role Once you have registered interest you will receive a short form to complete so that you can tell us a bit about yourself. Once we have your form, we can set up a 1-1 chat, where we can have a more in-depth conversation about the role. If you think the role is for you, you will then complete a short induction which will cover everything you need to know, as well as training and support you will receive.
