We're getting ready for our big Lighting Up The Lea open day on Saturday, September 20th, and we need your help to make it a huge success! Variety of roles avaliable including; Deputy Event Assistant, Workshop Assistant, Heritage Volunteer, Event Assistant / Steward and Feedback Facilitator.

Detailed Description

We're getting ready for our big Lighting Up The Lea open day on Saturday, September 20th, and we need your help to make it a huge success! Lighting Up The Lea is a free community open day celebrating the ecological and social heritage of the Lower River Lea! This event is in partnership with Open House, Totally Thames, and Newham Heritage Month, and is made possible with funding from the Heritage Fund. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a fun community event, meet new people, and help shine a light on the incredible heritage of the River Lea. Volunteer Roles Avaliable: • Deputy Event Assistant: (1 full-day role) Work closely with our Event Manager to help with the setup, smooth running, and pack-down of the entire day. • Workshop Assistant: Help a workshop leader with fun activities for children or assist an artist with their interactive art piece. • Heritage Volunteer: Help visitors engage with our special exhibition installations, including our 'Cabinet of Curiosity'. • Event Assistant / Steward: Be the friendly face of the event! You'll help guide visitors, answer questions, and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day. • Feedback Facilitator: Roam the event with an iPad and help us gather valuable feedback from our visitors. How to Sign Up: If you'd like to join us, please register interest in the role with the following information: • The volunteer role you are most interested in. • Your preferred shift: Morning (10am-2:30pm) or Afternoon (2pm-6:30pm). While we can't guarantee you'll get your first choice, we will do our very best to accommodate your preferences. We can't wait to have you on the team!
