Volunteer Children's Mentor: Let’s Strengthen Our Community Together
The Kids Network
Create meaningful connections in your community through mentoring a child and become a local hero!
The Kids Network offers a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the lives of children in your borough. We support children during a crucial time in their lives, as they transition from primary to secondary school. In your weekly sessions whether you are playing games or discussing goals, by becoming a mentor you will help a child to build confidence, resilience, and the tools for a positive future. Whether you're motivated by your community or your own personal experiences, becoming a mentor with us will be rewarding and impactful for both you and your mentee.

We are looking for passionate, curious, and committed volunteers that are eager to become more embedded within their local community and support local children.
Join our community of mentors! • We hold mentor meet-ups, providing an opportunity for you to meet, socialise, and share experiences with our diverse community of mentors. • We run frequent group mentoring sessions where you can connect with other pairs while enjoying a fun and free activity. Previous sessions have included football games, theatre visits, trips to the zoo, art workshops, and kite making and flying. Training, Support & Certificate: • All volunteers will attend 2 days of training, including safeguarding, understanding what mentoring is and skills to bring to the role. • We also offer additional training throughout the year, with up to 30 hours of free training and development available. • Upon completion of the mentoring programme, Mentors will receive a Badge of Excellence Certificate in Child-led Mentoring. • Mentors will have a direct contact at the organisation, their Programme Manager (PM). PM's provide support, encouragement and advice throughout the whole year of your mentoring.
