Job Club Volunteer

Circle Collective

Circle collective hold a weekly job club at our offices in Dalston which takes place between 11:00 and 14:00. We are looking for volunteers to support the young people who attend the job club by supporting them with job searches, applying for jobs and preparing for interviews.

Detailed Description

Circle Community is a charity based in three of London’s most deprived areas: Hackney and Lewisham, and Tower Hamlets . We believe that every young person who would like to work should be given the opportunity to do so. We support unemployed young people experiencing multiple disadvantages and barriers in order for them to secure sustainable employment in an industry they care about. Circle collective hold a weekly job club at our offices in Dalston which takes place between 11:00 and 14:00 every Wednesday. This is the time in the week that we meet with young people on the Circle Collective programme and support them with developing their CVs and applying for jobs. Volunteers will sit down individually with the young people attending the session and help them apply for jobs. This will include, helping look online for suitable roles, helping to develop their CVs, writing cover letters, and preparing for interviews. There will always be a job coach present at the session, so you will never be expected to be running the session alone. The aim is for the volunteer who is selected to start as the Job Club Volunteer with Circle Collective in January 2026.

Key Skills - Knowledge of how to search for jobs. - Knowledge of how to write a CV and cover letters. - Knowledge of preparing for interviews - Good communication skills - Able to relate to young people. - Organised and reliable - Empathetic that the young person you are working with might have barriers to progression. Desirable experience - Previous of working with young people or at-risk communities - Previous experience of employment support - Experience or running or leading workshops. - Experience of coaching or mentoring
