Help turn small change into a big difference. As a Collection Box Coordinator Volunteer, you'll be the friendly face of Marie Curie in your community, placing and managing donation boxes in local businesses to raise vital funds that support people living with a terminal illness and their families.
In this flexible role, you'll work with local shops, cafés, pubs, pharmacies, sports clubs and other community venues to place and manage Marie Curie collection tins and daffodil boxes. You'll identify new locations for collection boxes, maintain positive relationships with venue contacts, keep simple records, and help ensure donations are counted and banked securely. Full training and ongoing support will be provided. Every donation box you place gives people an easy way to support Marie Curie. The funds you help raise will provide expert care, practical support and vital services for people living with a terminal illness and those closest to them. By turning everyday generosity into action, you'll make a meaningful difference to families in need.

We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who enjoy meeting people and building relationships in their local community. You'll be comfortable approaching local businesses, keeping simple records, and managing your own time effectively. No previous fundraising experience is required. However, a good knowledge of your local area, basic organisational skills and the confidence to represent Marie Curie positively are desirable. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
As a Collection Box Coordinator Volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in your local community while developing valuable communication, networking and relationship-building skills. You'll meet local business owners and community groups, gain experience representing a national charity, and see firsthand how your efforts help support people living with a terminal illness and their families. You'll also receive training, ongoing support, recognition for your contribution, and reimbursement of reasonable expenses.
This is a flexible role with no regular weekly commitment. Once collection boxes have been placed in local venues, we typically ask volunteers to check and bank donations every three months. The role can be arranged around your availability, and we ask for a commitment of at least 12 months.

This role has no fixed location and takes place within the local community. We are particularly looking for volunteers in Richmond upon Thames, although opportunities may also be available in surrounding areas. Visits to local businesses can be arranged flexibly around your availability.
