Help local residents access the support they need! As a Benefit Form Filler Volunteer at Citizens Advice Richmond, you will assist clients in completing complex welfare benefit forms (such as PIP, Attendance Allowance, and Carers Allowance). You will listen to their situation, guide them through the paperwork, and ensure forms are accurate. Full training and ongoing support are provided. A great opportunity to develop client-facing skills while making a real impact in your community.
Many people in our local community struggle with lengthy and complex welfare benefit forms. As a Benefit Form Filler Volunteer, you will provide crucial, one-to-one practical support to help clients complete these application forms accurately and stress-free. Key Responsibilities: - Meet with clients (in person or via scheduled appointments) to assist them with completing benefit forms (e.g., PIP, Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance, Universal Credit). - Actively listen to clients’ situations and accurately record their responses on the official forms. - Help gather supporting documents and ensure forms are fully completed before submission. - Explain next steps clearly to clients and update our client recording system (Casebook). - Maintain client confidentiality and follow Citizens Advice policies and procedures.

Good communication and active listening skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach. Good written English and basic computer skills to complete digital or paper forms accurately. High attention to detail and patience when working with vulnerable clients. No prior knowledge of benefits is required as comprehensive training will be provided.
