Like to cook or want to improve your cooking skills? Want to learn new cooking skills, gain confidence and meet other people in your local community? Become one of our All Ages Kitchen volunteers and you will be part of a fun team preparing healthy, vegetarian meals on Thursday for the local community.
The volunteer will assist with the lunch meal cooked on Thursdays as part of the Round Chapel Old School Rooms’ intergenerational All Ages project. Tasks will include: - Preparing vegetables and following instructions from the Kitchen Lead - Cleaning equipment and dishes throughout the morning’s cooking activity to assist with overall tidiness in the kitchen - Taking on cooking tasks with guidance from the Kitchen Lead - Helping to serve up the meal once the All Ages café opens - Being part of a busy, fun kitchen team of volunteers and staff - Helping to tidy away once the community café has finished serving lunch.

- Basic knowledge of being in a kitchen or some experience of home cooking - People-friendliness
- Building confidence in the kitchen - Learning new recipes and more knowledge of vegetarian meals - Social contact - Meeting new people in the local community - Greater understanding of what is involved in cooking for large numbers and an idea of what is involved in a professional kitchen / setting
- At least 3 hours on Thursdays during term time (at least 2 Thursdays every month)
