Trustee - Team Heathrow

Heathrow Community Fund

This Trustee role is for an individual with direct experience of working within the Heathrow airport eco-system, who brings strong understanding of airport-based businesses (Team Heathrow), local communities, and corporate social responsibility. The role focuses on connection-building, influence, and advocacy, to raise awareness of Heathrow Community Trust (HCT), the work it does and the impact it has on those who live and work in the community.

Detailed Description

This Trustee role is for an individual with direct experience of working within the Heathrow airport eco-system, who brings strong understanding of airport-based businesses (Team Heathrow), local communities, and corporate social responsibility. The role focuses on connection-building, influence, and advocacy, to raise awareness of Heathrow Community Trust (HCT), the work it does and the impact it has on those who live and work in the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an interest in the future of the communities surrounding Heathrow Airport to take on the important role of Trustee to the Heathrow Community Trust. The Trustee role is a voluntary position, travel costs can be reimbursed if required. We are particularly looking for Trustees who can help us to ensure that our Board is as diverse as the local communities that we serve. Suitable for individuals who have a good understanding of their local community and voluntary sector. In addition to building HCT's links with wider Team Heathrow networks, you would join our trustee board to oversee the wider governance of the charity. The board holds four daytime meetings (2-3 hours each) per year at Compass Centre, Heathrow Airport. There are also opportunities to visit funded projects and organisations during the year. Trustees are appointed for a three-year term of office with the option to renew for a further 3 years. Why these skills are required

• Current or previous experience working at Heathrow Airport for HAL or a Team Heathrow organisation. • Demonstrable breadth of understanding of the Heathrow airport eco-system. • Experience of, or exposure to, CSR, social value, or community engagement activity. • Strong local community understanding and/or connections in areas served by Heathrow Community Trust. • Ability to use personal and professional connections to positively influence outcomes. • Previous charity trustee experience is desirable, or involvement with voluntary/community organisations. • Experience engaging senior stakeholders within complex business environments.

Time Commitment

Our in person board meetings are mainly held at The Compass Centre, Nelson Road Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, TW6 2GW At times, meetings may be held at Heathrow Academy or other local community venues.

Bus from Heathrow Central Bus station - 75, 76, U3, 441 Bus from Hatton cross 423 Free parking available during meetings. Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed if required.
