Do you love cooking and want to make a difference in your community? Join the kitchen team at our weekly Wellbeing Club! Help prepare a simple vegetarian meal with salad, chop fruit and prepare snacks for the creche. Wellbeing Club runs every Monday in term time at the Round Chapel Old School Rooms. The group is for local mums with young children on a low income, with priority for families living in hostels. The session offers a regular safe space where women can focus on their wellbeing and build networks of peer support. While the women take part in wellbeing activities (such as movement, making, music or meditation), their children are looked after in the creche. After the activities, we all eat lunch together and everyone helps tidy up. Role and Responsibilities: • Assist in preparing lunch for approximately 25 people, including families and volunteers • Help with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and peeling • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, load and unload the dishwasher and clean surfaces • Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times • Collaborate with the Wellbeing Club team, kitchen lead, and other volunteers • Communicate any issues, concerns, or suggestions during the end-of-session debrief Skills and attributes: • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety practices (training available) • Good at communicating and working in a team • Kind and friendly – keen to help us create an inclusive and welcoming session • Passion for community involvement and contributing to the wellbeing of local families • Able to follow food safety guidelines and procedures • Committed to uphold the Round Chapel values of social justice, inclusiveness, diversity, partnership, hospitality, creativity, and hope Benefits: • Supportive environment for building confidence and skills for entering or returning to work • Gain valuable experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and community work • Appreciation and recognition for your valuable contribution to the community No kitchen experience is necessary, but you would be welcome take on a leadership role. This voluntary position offers a rewarding social experience in our friendly kitchen, opportunities to share your skills and gain new ones. The Round Chapel Old School Rooms, 2 Powerscroft Road, Lower Clapton

The Round Chapel Old School Rooms is on Powerscroft Road (at the Lower Clapton Road end). Our beautiful building has 3 tall arched windows and stone steps outside. We are opposite the bus stop for the 242 bus. We are not connected to the larger ‘Round Chapel’ venue on Lower Clapton road.
