As our dedicated Health & Social Care Trustee, you will: • Bring sector expertise to inform and strengthen the services we provide to clients • Advise on health and social care best practice, regulation, and emerging trends • Help identify new ways in which Hands can support its clients • Contribute to strategic planning alongside the board and manager • Support a culture of continuous improvement in service quality

Detailed Description

Hands is a local neighbourhood charity dedicated to enhancing quality of life and helping people maintain their cherished independence. We serve residents of Twickenham and St Margarets — in particular older people, and those who are isolated or housebound. Working through a dedicated team of 75 local volunteers, we act as good neighbours, providing friendly support and companionship. Our core services include: • Befriending and companionship • Shopping assistance • Transport support • Social events and outings • Practical help — including small DIY tasks, gardening and digital skills support TRUSTEE ROLE This is a rewarding chance to get involved at grassroots level with a charity that makes a tangible difference to people's lives every day. As a Trustee, you will join a small, committed board and help shape the future of Hands — building on our existing services and exploring new ways to extend our reach and impact. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in health and social care, but we recognise that strong boards benefit from diverse expertise. We would also welcome applications from those with backgrounds in: • Finance or audit • Human resources • Legal or governance • Voluntary or community sector leadership Whatever your professional background, we are looking for someone who: • Has the confidence to voice their views clearly and constructively in meetings • Is genuinely committed to Hands' mission of empowering those who need support • Shares our core values of respect, inclusion, integrity, collaboration, excellence and enabling • Is willing to embrace and champion our safeguarding policies and culture
