Advocacy in Greenwich

Purpose of the role: The Safeguarding & Quality Trustee provides Board-level oversight to ensure the organisation delivers safe, effective, and high-quality services for the people it supports.

Detailed Description

Key responsibilities: • Provide oversight of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practice. • Ensure the Board understands safeguarding responsibilities and risks. • Monitor quality, impact, and outcomes of services delivered. • Support a culture where people using services are listened to, respected, and protected. • Review relevant safeguarding reports, incidents, complaints, and learning. • Ensure the organisation continues to meet best practice standards and regulatory expectations.

Essential skills and experience: We are looking for a Safeguarding & Quality Trustee who can provide Board-level oversight, ensuring the organisation delivers safe, effective, and high-quality services for the people we support. • Experience of safeguarding practice, policies, and procedures. • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within a charity, community, health, or social care setting. • Ability to provide appropriate challenge and assurance to the Board and senior leadership. • Experience of monitoring service quality, outcomes, and impact. • Understanding of risk management, complaints, incidents, and learning processes. • Commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, inclusion, and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities and autism. Desirable: • Experience working in health, social care, education, disability, or community services. • Previous experience as a safeguarding lead, manager, trustee, or senior practitioner. • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation, best practice, and regulatory expectations. • Experience of quality improvement, audits, or service reviews. • Understanding of co-production and involving people with lived experience in decision-making.
