We are looking for 2 volunteers to support an in person friendly social group where members get to check in with each other and have a general chat. It’s an informal safe space where members can receive some emotional support or just have an easy going chat about anything that's on their mind

Detailed Description

We are looking for 2 volunteers to support an in person friendly social group where members get to check in with each other and have a general chat. It’s an informal safe space where members can receive some emotional support or just have an easy going chat about anything that's on their mind. Duties can include: Set up space before members arrive Support members by talking with them and involving them in wider group conversations Welcoming new members, ensuring diverse needs are met, and supporting members who need assistance. Identifying any potential risks to service users and report Peer Network Lead Tidy up space at end of session Skills, Attributes & Abilities Required: Strong interpersonal skills, High empathy levels, good listener, emotional intelligence, warm and friendly, consistent, reliable, good time management, respectful and value other people's opinions Benefits The opportunity to learn more about the voluntary sector and to gain valuable skills and experience Volunteering from home allowance (in line with our Volunteers’ Expenses Policy) The opportunity to attend training courses Support and supervision References (after completion of 3 months volunteering with us)
