INS Reception Volunteer

Integrated Neurological Services

INS is a Registered Charity providing long-term support for people with neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke) and their carers. INS offers ongoing rehabilitation through therapy and education, together with practical self-help techniques and solutions which can help to maintain independence for as long as possible. This support can be provided in a small group or on a 1:1 basis. We are looking for volunteers for our Reception team.

About Integrated Neurological Services (INS) INS is a Registered Charity providing long-term support for people with neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke) and their carers. INS offers ongoing rehabilitation through therapy and education, together with practical self-help techniques and solutions which can help to maintain independence for as long as possible. This support can be provided in a small group or on a 1:1 basis. INS are looking for volunteers to provide reception support at our centre in Twickenham. Minimum Commitment 3-hour weekly session Personal qualities and experience Experience of answering telephone calls and operating a telephone system, including a clear speaking voice, and ability to hear clients is essential. Ability to provide information in clear and concise manner. Ability to demonstrate a warm and caring attitude towards all service users so that everyone feels welcomed and valued. Experience of Microsoft suite of programmes, including Outlook and Excel. Ready to identify tasks which require doing and act upon these without instruction. Commitment to arrive for agreed sessions on time, providing adequate notice of non-attendance to allow cover to be arranged. Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality, always following the confidentiality procedures. Eagerness to learn about neurological conditions, and how to communicate with, and support need of individuals living with neurological conditions. Main tasks include Greet visitors to the office and inform the relevant member of staff. Ensure visitors to the office sign in and out. Answer calls, putting them through to the relevant member of staff. Take clear messages. Oversee the waiting area to ensure all clients are comfortable and safe, as well as assist them with any needs. Process and record client payments. Maintain accurate log of client interactions on our database, Salesforce. Maintain online and paper filing systems Undertake other tasks as required (photocopying, filing and scanning)
