Box Walks
Lead one group walk a year and look after a phone box.
Box Walks is a registered charity which develops sustainability-themed walks using Richmond’s iconic red phone boxes as destination points, which unlock gamified content and activities. The purpose of this voluntary role is to create and lead a community of urban ramblers in Richmond Upon Thames who take part in localised environmental action, while caring for a Richmond grade II listed phone box. Lead 1 – 2 group walks a year, preferably on a corresponding environmental day associated with your phone box’s topic. Check your phone box every month and report any damage on the Box Walks app. You are not expected to fix or repair your phone box. Organise a box wash every three months so that your designated phone box is kept clean and in good order. This may entail liaising with local neighbours to the phone box to provide access to water for the box wash.
