Surplus food hub volunteers for Ham Community Cafe - The Real Junk Food Project
Would you like to be part of team that helps to reduce food waste and provides healthy low cost food to your local community? The Real Junk Food Project are looking to expand our team of surplus food hub volunteers at our community cafe in Ham Youth Centre on Tuesday lunchtimes Any food that isn't used for cooking is available for visitors to take home from our surplus food hub. Our volunteers sort, sort, display and serve from the surplus food hub as well as setting up and packing away the cafe tables and chairs. We are open to everyone and offer the service on a pay as you feel basis.

You will be joining a friendly team of people passionate about reducing food waste as well as helping to reduce food insecurity in the local community.
Volunteers are onsite ~8:45am - 2:00pm however you can do do a partial shift. We setup and cook from 9am-11:30, Serve from 11:30-13:30 and then pack down. We are open every Tuesday and ask that volunteers can typically commit to at least 2 weeks per month.
