As a Family Support Volunteer, you will work alongside the Project Manager/Family Liaison to help deliver supportive, welcoming, and practical sessions for parents and carers.
As a Family Support Volunteer, you will work alongside the Project Manager/Family Liaison to help deliver supportive, welcoming, and practical sessions for parents and carers. Key Responsibilities • Supporting the delivery of monthly peer support groups for parents and carers • Assisting with parent support sessions, helping to create a safe and inclusive environment • Providing basic signposting to relevant services and resources (with guidance) • Helping with session set-up and general organisation • Offering a friendly, listening ear to families attending sessions

• Friendly, empathetic, and non-judgemental • Good communicators with a willingness to listen • Reliable and able to commit to regular weekly support • Interested in supporting families, early years, or SEND (experience is helpful but not essential)
• Experience working within an early intervention and family support service • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your local community • Training, guidance, and ongoing support from the Greenwich Mencap team
Approximately 1–2 hours per week, primarily supporting sessions and related activities.
