It's an exciting time at Crossness and we're looking for people with an interest in arts, heritage and creative media to help us develop and produce content for our newsletters and social media to share the exciting work thats going on at the museum!
Crossness Pumping Station is the jewel in the crown of the Victorian London sewers and represents the beginning of modern urbanism. Built originally in 1865 by Sir Joseph Bazalgette our site includes beautiful examples of Victorian architecture including the Grade 1 listed Beam Engine house. We want to share our amazing space and the hard work of our volunteers. This role will focus on developing and producing content to highlight what makes Crossness special. What you might be doing: • Taking photos and producing videos that show off our historic space • Doing some basic editing to produce clips for our social media channels • Chatting to our volunteers to highlight and share their work • Producing content to promote our upcoming events • You will be supported with clear branding guidelines and guides You will get the chance to: • Work with volunteers from different backgrounds • Develop your experience in a creative media role • Contribute to the develop of an exciting new programme of events at Crossness • Learn about the history and culture of Crossness

We don't require any professional experience, a basic understanding and enthusiasm for social media, photography and video is enough and we will support you with clear guidelines. This role is ideal for you if: • You have an eye for creative details • You are interested in creative media • You have some knowledge of social media and video editing • You are comfortable talking to new people to learn about their work
This media role gives you the opportunity to learn about our amazing museum and heritage site, learn and share the stories of our volunteers, and gain experience in a creative role. We also offer: What we offer: • An in-person induction and routine 1 to 1 check ins with our volunteer manager • Training for your role, with opportunities to take part in wider training • Free parking and locker facilities as well as a volunteer canteen with free tea, coffee, and biscuits. • You will be sent our monthly volunteer newsletter The Chronicle to keep you updated with all that’s happening
We want to be flexible to ensure you can get the most out of your time with us. We recommend the equivalent of one day a week (around 6 hours) but feel free to contact us if you would like to be involved but can't commit weekly!
