We are at a crucial stage in our strategic development and are looking for Trustees who can make a positive impact by broadening our horizons and shaping strategy.
We are seeking new Trustees to help shape and support the world-leading and student-focussed Rambert School to ensure it remains a centre of global excellence in dance education. We are particularly interested in those with skills and experience in property, buildings or Architecture. TRUSTEE ATTRIBUTES Our Trustees: • Share the belief that dance, choreography, and creativity have the potential to transform the lives of young people and society more broadly. • Possess integrity, impartiality, diligence, financial acumen, and strong communication and ambassadorial skills. • Proactively contribute and collaborate at Board and Committee level regarding the strategic direction and governance of the School. • Foster a commitment to dance training, the performing arts, higher education, academic governance and equity, diversity and inclusion. • Are committed, supportive and generous with their time and goodwill. • Bring compassion, independent judgement, a willingness to speak their minds, and an ability to listen and collaborate with others. • Serve initially for three years, with an option to serve for up to a further two terms. • Follow the Seven Principles of Public Life (the Nolan Principles) and the Charity Governance Code.

TRUSTEE REQUIREMENTS • 3 main board meetings, at least 3 subcommittee meetings and 1 board away day per year. • 20% of meetings in-person / 80% of meetings online. Trustees required to attend at least one Board meeting each year in-person. • Additional time to review meeting papers, attend ad hoc meetings and provide advice on ad hoc matters. • 3-year appointment with the possibility of extending to 6 or 9 years. • The role is not remunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. • The role carries legal responsibilities.
