Complete an accredited Peer Mentor course and volunteer within a day centre for rough sleepers using your lived experience and the new skills you have gained to work with our clients.
This volunteering role includes a seven week training course on becoming a Peer Mentor. You will learn all about how to be a successful mentor, safeguarding, understanding addiction & team building. You will use your experiences of homelessness, addiction or mental health issues to act as positive role model to help the clients that come into our day centre. You will pick an area you are interested in within our day centre and gain experience in your chosen area, either reception or health Peer. As you assist & motivate our clients on their journey for 12 months, during this time you can also work with our employability team, who can help with job searches, CV improvements, interview skills etc. & create a personal development plan.

This role is for someone who has lived experience of homelessness, addition or mental health issues but are fully recovered & in a more stable place and would like to use their experience to help others.

For the first 7 weeks – Every Monday 10am-2pm (includes lunch break) for the training course Then one day a week 3-4 hours for up to 12 months.
