Richmond Volleyball Club is seeking a volunteer Club Secretary to support its governance as the club works towards becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This is a light-touch, governance-focused role involving meetings, records, and key documents, not day-to-day operations. Around 3–5 hours per month, mostly remote, with occasional local meetings.

The role supports good order and transparency but does not involve day-to-day club operations. The Club Secretary works closely with the Chair and committee and is a full voting member of the governing body. The time commitment is around 3–5 hours per month, with some additional time around the AGM. Most work can be done remotely, with occasional local meetings. This role would suit someone organised and reliable who wants to make a meaningful contribution to a well-established community sports club.

You don’t need prior experience as a trustee or secretary — what matters most is an interest in good governance and a willingness to support a community organisation to thrive. You’ll be joining the club at an exciting point, helping to strengthen its foundations as it works towards becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Support and guidance will be provided, and the role offers a chance to make a real difference behind the scenes in a well-established local sports club.

You’ll gain practical experience of governance and support the club’s transition towards Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status — valuable experience for anyone interested in trustee or committee roles. The role is flexible, mostly remote, and designed to fit around other commitments. You’ll work with a friendly, committed group of volunteers and have the satisfaction of knowing your contribution helps enable safe, inclusive, and well-run volleyball opportunities in the local community.
