Support individuals through unplanned pregnancy and pregnancy loss by offering a calm, confidential space to reflect, explore options, and process emotions. Crisis Listening involves one-off sessions, while Pregnancy Loss Support includes a minimum of 10 sessions journeying through grief with clients. We welcome empathetic, reliable communicators with an active Christian faith who can commit to this sensitive and meaningful work.
Join SEEN as a Listening Volunteer, Crisis Listening Support Support individuals in immediate emotional or situational crisis through one-off sessions designed to create a calm, confidential space for reflection. Volunteers help clients explore their thoughts and feelings around pregnancy, facilitate open discussion of all available options, and support them in considering the potential gains and losses of each path forward. Pregnancy Loss Support Journey with clients who have experienced pregnancy loss, including post-abortion experiences, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and foetal abnormalities. This support involves a minimum of 10 sessions, using counselling skills to walk alongside clients through their grief journey, offer consistent emotional presence and validation, and facilitate healing through reflective conversation and compassionate listening. We welcome volunteers who are empathetic, reliable, and excellent communicators, have an active Christian faith and align with SEEN’s values, and can commit to the emotional demands of this sensitive work.

Volunteering with SEEN offers a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life during a vulnerable time. You’ll gain: Personal growth through reflective listening and emotional support work. Skill development in counselling, communication, and crisis response. A way to live out your Christian faith in a compassionate, practical way. Community connection through regular catch-ups, social events, and shared learning with other volunteers. Ongoing learning via monthly training sessions with expert speakers and topics ranging from IVF and domestic abuse to grief in different cultures. Support and care from SEEN’s team, including tailored accessibility options and a rest month in August to recharge.
On average, Listening Support Volunteers commit approximately 3–4 hours per week, which includes: 1 hour for a client session per week 1 hour for writing session notes per session 2 hours once every 2 months for training 2 hours every 2 months for supervision

By Train: The nearest stations are Richmond mainline train and tube (District Line) and St Margarets mainline train. By Car: We have a car park right outside the building which can be accessed from the Richmond Road via a driveway leading in behind the brick wall. There is meter and voucher parking on surrounding streets and vouchers can be purchased from the newsagents on Richmond Road next to the bus stop.
