Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 children and young people from across the UK arrive. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. And every day is a chance for you to make a difference. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. A better future for seriously ill children starts here. How you’ll make a difference Do you enjoy the buzz of events and speaking to new people, and want to develop or use your organisation skills? This is the role for you. Walkie Talkie Tower Climb wouldn’t be possible without volunteers like you. You’ll help to ensure the Walkie Talkie Tower Climb participants have an excellent event day and feel inspired to keep fundraising for GOSH Charity in the future. What’s involved? As part of this role, you may be invited to help with activities such as: · Cheering on event participants · Setting up events e.g., balloons, refreshment area and tidying away · Meet and greet event participants · Check in people who are taking part in or attending the event · Supporting with the cloakroom or bag drop · Handing out medals Really good at chatting to people but maybe not able to do the heavy lifting? What we are looking for · Individuals, aged 18 and over, interested in a varied and flexible volunteering role · Individuals who enjoy meeting new people and helping others feel at ease · Able to use your own initiative and carry out tasks unsupervised · Ability to follow our policies and procedures to keep you, our staff, our patients, and our supporters safe · Ability to represent GOSH and our values positivity and enthusiastically
