We are looking for a Trustee to join Hampton Pool Trust at an exciting time in our history. The role has a specific remit to oversee the performance of our Pool Operator at a time when we have completed the handover to our new Pool Operator are planning further phases of the redevelopment of Hampton Pool buildings and facilities.

We are looking for a Trustee to join Hampton Pool Trust at an exciting time in our history. The role has a specific remit to oversee the performance of our Pool Operator at a time when we have completed the handover to our new Pool Operator are planning further phases of the redevelopment of Hampton Pool buildings and facilities. The Trust is run by a Board on a voluntary basis with a vision to secure the future of the pool for the health and wellbeing of the local community. You will join the Board and Chair the Operations & Oversight Committee. The Board and Committee include Trustees and members with relevant specialist skills. Who we are looking for The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, tenacious, and fastidious with commitment to the aims of HPT. You will have strategic experience in operations or service sector management and the ability to work well in teams and contribute to committee work. You will have understanding of client/service provider relationships. You will have the abilities to lead a team and contribute to discussions at Board level and with staff. What the role involves The Operations & Oversight Director is responsible for reporting to the Board on the activities and performance of our Pool Operator South Downs Leisure (SDL) and chairs the Operations & Oversight Committee, which meets quarterly. The Operations & Oversight Director needs to be in regular contact with the Chair of the Board, Operations Committee and SDL General Manager for HPT. The Operations Oversight Committee exists: • To receive and review reports from the Operator SDL to enable appropriate oversight of SDL operation of Hampton Pool as defined in the Management Agreement 2025 and any subsequent annual updates • To consider and agree responses to external issues with an impact on the operation of the Pool • To agree operational priorities, including recommendations for prioritising operational expenditure, including the annual programme of capital works • To review customer satisfaction data, the themes emerging and SDL responses, including relationship management with specific stakeholders and customer groups • To review Safeguarding reports and action taken • To review health and safety reports and action taken • To review environmental impact data and action taken • To support stakeholder relationship management, including with London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and The Royal Parks • To agree, monitor and report on health and wellbeing and other data metrics relating to pool operations which may be required for the Trust annual report and for grant and loan applications Term - Appointments to the Board are usually for a three-year term. Time commitment - Typically a day per week with some flexibility required. Board meetings are held on weekday evenings (c.7 per year). Fundraising and stakeholder liaison activities will involve attendance at meetings and events where it is appropriate for the Operations & Oversight Director to be present.
