The ability to build effective working relationships - questioning and challenging constructively and confidently when appropriate. Basic financial knowledge/experience. You would need to attend four governing body and six Committee meetings a year. Full governing body meetings (on a Tuesday evening at 6pm) are usually in school and Committee meetings alternate between face-to-face and online. Governor visits to school to support the work of the governing body are also to be expected - potentially one or two per term. There are also three governor mornings a year (when members of the governing body spend time at Collis with their link year groups observing the work of the school in action). In addition as Chair of governors, some additional time would be needed for liaison with the headteacher (outside of formal meetings).
