As a Voluntary Director at LGOAL, you’ll help shape the next chapter of our journey. This strategic leadership role invites you to co-create our five-year vision, strengthen governance for sustainable growth, and nurture systems and culture that amplify our impact. You’ll join the board at a pivotal moment as we explore charitable status and deepen our commitment to inclusive access to nature and wellbeing. Directors contribute their expertise, insights, and energy to guide LGOAL’s future — ensuring our work continues to connect people meaningfully with the outdoors.

Why these skills are required

We are looking for a range of different skills to contribute to the strategic direction of LGOAL. We'd love to hear from you if you have experience of any of the following: strategy and organisational development, fundraising and income generation, business development and sustainability, finance and financial oversight, project management and operational processes, charity governance and compliance, community engagement and outreach and change management.

Time Commitment

We ask our Directors to commit to attending monthly board meetings, which typically last around two hours. In addition, we encourage about one to two hours of preparation time each month — reading papers, reflecting on key issues, and contributing ideas. There are also opportunities to get involved in working groups or specific projects, depending on your interests and availability. The total time commitment would be 8 - 10 hours a month.
