BROS TC, one of London’s leading amateur musical theatre societies, based in the Richmond area, is seeking a book keeper and preparer of Financial Statements. The book keeper records the societies' transactions in QuickBooks including show related expenditure and general expenses and income from show ticket sales, membership fees etc. Preparation of the Financial Statements for the Charities commission and a members report including more detail on the year's activity and shows.

Detailed Description

BROS TC, one of London’s leading amateur musical theatre societies, based in the Barnes and Richmond area, is seeking a book keeper and preparer of our Financial Statements. The book keeper records the societies transactions in QuickBooks. This will typically include all show related expenditure, general expenses, and income from show ticket sales, membership fees and show fees. Preparation of the Financial Statements for the Charities commission and a separate members report to include more detailed information on the financial results of the society and each show. Please note we are posting a separate role for the Treasurer and Trustee role. These two roles could be combined and taken on by one individual, or done separately.

Bookkeeping & Finance

Why these skills are required

Finance background as an accountant or part qualified accountant preferable. Use of QuickBooks accounting software to record the transactions. Knowledge of financial reporting. Work closely with the societies' Treasurer. Liaise with the Independent examiner as required.

Time Commitment

The day to day book keeping activities will typically take about 1-2 hours per week, with less during the quiet months and more at the start and end of each show. The preparation of the year end accounts (year end 31 July) typically takes around 3 days. This could either be a Committee role or a non-Committee role as preferred by the role holder. The Committee meetings take place on the first or second Monday of each month in the evening, normally held at a pub in Richmond.
