Admin, Evaluating & Reviewing
The Fundraising Trustee is a volunteering role. We ask you to: - Be the lead person generating funds for the unit and, particularly, our refurbishment project, Project Saumarez 2100. - Identify fundraising sources, including advice, guidance and support from HQ Fundraising team. - Develop links with local contacts and produce a database of potential funders. - Raise awareness of the unit to the local community with the support of other trustees responsible for marketing and communications. - Provide support and guidance on fundraising requirements relevant to other volunteers - Develop and encourage links with business. - To assist the UMT in the generation of unit funds through identification of marketing and communications activities.
There are many benefits to becoming a Trustee and joining the UMT: - There’s no Twickenham Sea Cadets without Trustees; we govern the charity and make sure the Unit has what it needs to deliver life-changing services for our cadets - You play a pivotal role – alongside the rest of the UMT – in setting the charity’s direction and ensuring we are successful in the long-term - Your input benefits the other community stakeholders who use the Unit regularly; their contributions also fund most of our expenditure - You gain valuable governance experience that is relevant for your personal and professional development
Estimate of time needed: 1-5 hours a week We meet once a month (3rd Tue at 1930) in person. Aside from that, Trustees do their roles around their own commitments.
