The Facilities Trustee's primary role is to support the UMT chairperson and other trustees to manage an effective and successful Sea Cadet unit and provide a safe, maintained, and serviced unit. You'd be great in this role if you have property, building, construction, or other practical skills, and you would enjoy planning, managing, and delivering projects that improve our physical site for the benefit of all users.
As independent charities, each Sea Cadet unit has a number of trustees to oversee the management and legal undertakings of the unit. The Facilities Trustee (FT) is to support the Unit Chair (UC) by assisting with the planned maintenance and upkeep of the unit facilities. Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of all the Unit Management Team (UMT) Trustees is to support the UC to manage a safe, effective and successful Sea Cadet unit. Secondary Purposes: The secondary purpose of the FT is to be responsible for keeping auditable records through the Unit administration system of the unit’s facilities, ensuring they are safe and adequate to support the unit’s charitable purposes and objectives.

Estimate of time needed: 1-5 hours a week We meet once a month (3rd Tue at 1930) in person. Aside from that, Trustees do their roles around their own commitments.
