Helpline Training Volunteer

No Panic

We seek empathetic, understanding, confident people to volunteer on our helpline, specifically with experience of providing training to staff or volunteers, so that they can go on to deliver training and support to future volunteers.

Detailed Description

Have you got experience of training others? No Panic, the national charity supporting anxiety sufferers, is looking for volunteers to train our new helpline call-takers, over zoom. If you have experience of delivering training, we would like to hear from you. Before you can deliver the training, you will need to gain some experience yourself. Firstly completing the helpline training course, that you will be running in future; then taking on a helpline shift, to build up your experience. When you are ready, you will receive guidance in running your own course. The time commitment is as follows: 1) Initial training is 1.5 hours, one night a week for 8 weeks, plus a small amount of homework. 2) Helpline shifts are 3-hours, once a week, plus participation in support calls. 3) Trainers run 3 courses a year, plus support their trainees when they first go on the helpline. Going through this process will, of course, require a long-term commitment on both sides, but don’t worry – we will support you all the way. If this challenge interests you, then please email volunteering@nopanic.org.uk.
