The Drop-in Centre Receptionist Volunteer will be responsible for managing the waiting room of our weekly Friday drop-in centre at Rutland House.
The Drop-in Centre Receptionist Volunteer will be responsible for managing the waiting room of our weekly Friday drop-in centre at Rutland House. The role will include: • Greeting Guests as they arrive at the drop-in centre • Taking down relevant information about them, their visit and any previous support from Bromley Mencap/Bromley Well • Noting the details of anyone that is attending with them and why they are being accompanied • Adding all attendance to a separate fire register and taking not of any evacuation assistance that may be required • Engaging with guests in a sympathetic and appropriate way to better understand their issue before recommending them to an advocate • To identify if the support requested is not offered by Bromley Mencap and signpost them to other services in the borough • To identify if guests attending are eligible for support from Bromley Mencap (E.g. Disabled or has a learning difficulty and living in the borough of Bromley) • To undertake essential training required of all Bromley Mencap volunteers Our weekly drop in centre is open every Friday (excluding public holidays) from 10:00 – 16:00 at Rutland House, 44 Masons Hill, Bromley, BR2 9JG. This role will require regularly attending the drop in centre during it’s opening hours. If you are unable to attend a session or won’t be available for the whole session on a particular week, At least 24 hour notice is recommended. The drop in centre is open to support any members of the public living with a disability or learning difficulty in the borough of Bromley.
