Are you a people person who loves a good pub quiz, daytime trivia, or sparking some friendly competition? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Community Quiz Master to run a fun monthly quiz at Greenwood Community Centre.
Are you a people person who loves a good pub quiz, daytime trivia, or sparking some friendly competition? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Community Quiz Master to run a fun monthly quiz at Greenwood Community Centre. These daytime quizzes aim to bring people together, reduce loneliness, and create a regular highlight for local residents especially older adults and carers. Key Tasks: - Host one monthly daytime quiz at Greenwood Community Centre. - Prepare light-hearted, accessible quiz questions (support provided). - Collect small cash admission fees and record participation. - Keep a running tally of the Community Quiz Prize Pot. - Help determine fair, creative ways to award the prize pot (e.g. raffle among regulars, team winners, ‘community hero’ vote). - Create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. -Work with the community team to promote the quizzes and grow participation. Skills & Qualities Needed: - Confident speaker with a good sense of humour and approachability. - Organised and able to prepare or adapt quiz content monthly. - Comfortable managing light cash handling and basic record-keeping. - Friendly, inclusive, and respectful of diverse participants. - Passionate about reducing isolation and building local community. Support Provided: - Intro session and materials to help you get started (sample quizzes, tips, etc.) - Regular support from the the team at Hampton & Hampton Hill Voluntary Care. - Use of AV equipment and resources at the Centre. - Flexible approach—you shape the quiz style to suit your personality! Tailored to suit, but minimum 3 hours a month to host and run quiz event at regualr times. As we are in th early stages of development the time and day are yet to be clrealy identified of the monthly event.
