The Real Junk Food Project - Wednesday General Volunteer @ the Cambrian Centre community café in Richmond.
Would you like to be part of a team that helps to reduce food waste and provides healthy low cost food to your local community? The Real Junk Food Project are looking for a general volunteers to join their team at the Cambrian Centre in Richmond on Wednesday mornings and lunchtime. You will be joining a dynamic team that serve healthy lunches for ~50 guests per session using food that is rescued from the supermarkets and other local businesses that would otherwise have gone to waste. Our general volunteers can help out in the morning sorting and displaying food donations (9am-10:30am), or help our chefs with basic food prep (9am-11:30) or help during our opening hours (11:30-13:30) by serving food, making teas and coffees and washing up. Our community cafes operate on a Pay As You Feel Basis and are open to all members of our community.

This role would suit someone who enjoys engaging with the public, and working in a team.
You will be joining a friendly social team and will be giving back to your community as well as benefiting the environment.
We ask that our volunteers typically commit to at least two weeks a month. Our general volunteers can attend for just the morning (9-11:30) or just service (11:30-13:30) or both if they wish to do a full shift
