Role Detail

Befriender

Kent Association for the Blind

The chance to make someone's day! And learn a bit about another person. A cup of tea and a chat is all it takes!

Detailed Description

Befriending is very rewarding as you get to learn very interesting and informative things about another person while making their day a little brighter at the same time. All it requires is a bit of commitment - weekly, fortnightly or monthly - and the opportunity to give about an hour to that person, in their own home. Some befrienders will just sit and chat while others may go for short walks or to a local coffee shop. No cleaning, cooking or correspondence management is required.
