Website & Digital Volunteer

As a Website & Digital Volunteer, you'll help ensure our website is up to date, user-friendly, and accessible. You’ll assist with uploading content, making basic edits, and supporting digital projects that help raise awareness of our services and events. This role is ideal for someone with some previous digital and/or web experience and an interest in supporting a local cancer support charity.

Detailed Description

As a Website & Digital Volunteer, you'll help ensure our website is up to date, user-friendly, and accessible. You’ll assist with uploading content, making basic edits, and supporting digital projects that help raise awareness of our services and events. This role is ideal for someone with some previous digital and/or web experience and an interest in supporting a local cancer support charity. The right candidate will be confident with digital tools and have experience using various social media platforms. Previous experience with video creation is also beneficial, however not essential. Key tasks include: • Uploading and updating website content using WordPress • Supporting email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp) • Assisting with online fundraising campaigns to inspire the public • Ensuring pages are accurate and visually engaging • Supporting Search Engine Optimisation and accessibility improvements • Any other suitable related tasks and duties that may be set by the Communications & Marketing Lead.

Why these skills are required

• Previous experience of maintaining and developing website and/or digital content. • Confident using digital tools and social media platforms to produce accurate content, to an agreed brief, to inform and inspire the public. • An eye for detail and a flair for what makes good content and appeals to our potential audience. • Good communication skills, • Ability to acquire knowledge of what The Mulberry Centre offers to people affected by cancer. • Ability to work independently for a portion of the time as our Communications & Marketing Lead is only office based 1 day per week and attends multiple meetings, so support is more easily provided remotely rather than in face-to-face meetings.

• You will be provided with an induction covering the objective of the role, the work of The Mulberry Centre, and its procedures and policies relevant for your volunteering role. • We will do our best to assist your volunteering role with us. This will include keeping you updated with all the relevant information on what support The Mulberry Centre offers. You will be briefed by your Lead on projects/tasks going forward. • Expenses are reimbursed for travel incurred to carry out your volunteering duties. The reimbursement of any other ‘out of pocket’ expenses is subject to prior approval by your Lead.
