The BLS is a thriving charity with 400 members that organises regular monthly author events from September to the following May. As a registered charity we give grants to a number of local organisations . We have a vacancy for up to three new trustees. We are looking for people with a love of literature and some expertise in the fields of social media and website management, or legal experience and who are also able to assist our grant giving activities.

We are looking for people with a love of literature and some expertise in the fields of social media and website management, or legal experience and who are also able to assist our grant giving activities. An opportunity to join an exciting literary charity and meet a wide range of best-selling authors, for example our next speaker in September is Ellie Griffiths. We are a very friendly and supportive group of trustees, we are very hands-on organising each event. You will meet many of our 400 members.
7 evening author events which all trustees are expected to attend. We meet for about 2 hours in the week before each of these events, currently in the afternoon but trustees can join via Zoom.
