WordPress website developer

The Richmond Society

Working with the IT trustee and others, your role is to design, build, and launch a functional, user-friendly WordPress website.

Detailed Description

The role will principally be to: • Work with trustees to agree layout, site functionality and structure that facilitates a modern content layout and user experience. • Install the new theme on the Society’s staging site. • Make HTML/CSS and other coding customisations as needed for branding and a good user experience. • Install and configure compatible plugins that enable key operations including: the editing of pages and posts, SEO, site security, cookie management, contact forms, backups, payment collection using Stripe, event management. • Test operations and make site live. • Document key operations for Website Manager to maintain site.

• Proven experience with WordPress development. • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic PHP. • Knowledge of security best practices and GDPR considerations. • Ability to work independently. • Have an interest in Richmond.
