Trustee - Secretary

What About Now?

We’re seeking an organised and committed individual to act as Secretary on our Board, ensuring our meetings run smoothly and our governance records are well maintained. Responsibilities include preparing agendas and minutes, coordinating Board communications and supporting compliance. Approx. commitment: 6–8 hours per month. Passion for our mental health mission essential.

Detailed Description

Purpose of the Role The Secretary serves as a trustee and ensures the effective administration of the Board, supporting good governance and smooth communication across all trustees and stakeholders. Act as the main point of contact for Board administration and governance matters. Prepare, circulate and maintain agendas, meeting papers and accurate minutes for Board meetings. Ensure that decisions, actions and follow-ups from meetings are clearly recorded and monitored. Support compliance with Charity Commission requirements and governance best practice. Maintain up-to-date records of trustees and key governance documents (e.g. governing documents, policies). Support the Chair to ensure Board meetings are well-organised and appropriately scheduled. Ensure trustees receive timely information and are kept informed of relevant developments. Participate actively in Board discussions and contribute to the wider strategic work of the charity.

Time Commitment
