The Purple Elephant Project

Support a local children’s charity by helping at fun, family-friendly fundraising events, including our flagship Purple Parade! The Purple Elephant Project offers therapeutic support to children and families, and we need enthusiastic volunteers to help raise vital funds. Weekend availability ideal. No experience needed – just a big heart and willingness to get involved!

Detailed Description

Make a difference in your spare time! The Purple Elephant Project is a local charity offering therapeutic support to children and families through play, as well as creative therapies. We’re passionate about early intervention and helping children feel safe, heard, and supported. Like many small charities, we’re currently under threat due to limited funding – and that’s where you come in. We’re looking for warm, friendly, and reliable Fundraising Volunteers to help us at a range of fun and interactive events, including our exciting annual celebration, The Purple Parade! What you might be doing: Supporting at local fundraising stalls or community events Helping to set up and pack down event spaces Chatting with the public about our work Selling raffle tickets or Purple Elephant merchandise Handing out leaflets and raising awareness of our cause Whether you have just a few hours to give or can commit to several events, your time and energy will directly support vulnerable children in our community. 💜 No prior experience needed – just a big heart and a willingness to help! Why these skills are required

We’re looking for volunteers who are friendly, approachable, and enjoy interacting with others. Good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential. You don’t need previous experience – just reliability, enthusiasm, and a kind, can-do spirit. An interest in children’s wellbeing or community work is a bonus but not required.

Time Commitment

We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months, (days are negotiable) with a few hours to spare now and then to support at community events. This helps us build a consistent, supportive team – and makes the experience even more rewarding for you too!
