Advanced No Panic Helpline Volunteer

We seek empathetic, understanding, confident people to volunteer on our helpline, specifically with experience of providing training to staff or volunteers, so that they can go on to deliver training and support to future volunteers.

Detailed Description

No Panic are looking for empathetic, understanding, confident and driven people to volunteer on our helpline. We are specifically looking for people who have experience of providing training to staff or volunteers. Working from home, successful applicants will answer helpline calls and provide support and advice for people with a range of anxiety disorders, by listening, offering self-help advice, and providing information about the range of support available from No Panic. After gaining experience on the helpline, successful applicants will also go on to deliver helpline training courses to new volunteers, currently lasting 8 weeks, and provide ongoing support. Why these skills are required

Advanced No Panic Helpline volunteers must have good empathy and listening skills. They must be able to communicate clearly and deliver training with confidence. They must have previous experience of delivering training. Experience of anxiety is desirable but not essential.

What is in it for you

This role is both challenging and fulfilling. All activities are performed from your own home, so lack of mobility is not a problem.

Time Commitment

All volunteers on the No Panic Helpline are required to complete training of 1.5 hours a week for 8 weeks; they then do at least one 3-hour shift a week. We require a 1-year commitment to volunteering on the helpline. Advanced No Panic Helpline volunteers are required to deliver 3 training courses a year.
