MENTOR TRAINING TONIGHT 31st MARCH AT 7PM AT HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, RICHMOND https://www.oxygen-online.org/videos We are looking for Volunteer Mentors to support vulnerable young people for a few hours per month by building affirming relationships which help them overcome the challenges they face.

Detailed Description

We are looking for Volunteer Mentors to support vulnerable young people for a few hours per month by building affirming relationships which help them overcome the challenges they face. Highly rewarding and fulfilling role working in loc al schools and community settings to encourage and support those most in need. You might be just the right person to impact a particular young person's life. Training is provided alongside ongoing support from highly experienced youth workers and an award wining charity, recognised for removing barriers so that young people can thrive and have hope for the future.

What skills are required for this role

Basic IT skills - internet & email, Negotiating, People Skills

Why these skills are required

You need to be able to work creatively and adapt to the needs of the young person. We want to understand the world from the young person's point of view, make them feel that they have the ability to change their future. Listening, enquiring, innovative.

Time Commitment

Between 3 to 10 hours per month Be able to work in local schools and in community settings. We ask for a 1 year committment to ensure we dont match a mentor with a young person to ensure continuity and resillience can develop.

Training and support will be provided at Holy Trinity Church Richmond Sheen Park, Richmond TW9 1UP with dates identified for April May and June.. Training and support can also be delivered online.
