2025 marks our 30th anniversary and we are seeking a new Chair of Trustees to continue our journey to cementing our place as one of the areas leading arts venues. We are looking for an outstanding individual with the right set of skills and experience, and we believe that this trusteeship will offer you a unique set of opportunities. Detailed Description

We are seeking a Chair Person able to • Be an enthusiastic advocate and ambassador of the Landmark Arts Centre and the arts in general. • Shape the future next steps to build on what we have already achieved and ensure we are able to deliver on the potential that our magnificent space offers to audiences and artists. • Work with the community and its leaders, the trustees and the staff team in promoting well considered strategic decision-making, effective oversight and a culture of inclusion.

1. Leadership and Governance • Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally as a chair or senior trustee in the not-for-profit sector. 2. Sector Knowledge • Passion for and understanding of the arts, cultural, or creative industries. • Awareness of challenges and opportunities facing arts organizations 3. Stakeholder Management • Skilled at fostering positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. 4. Financial Oversight • Experience in funding streams in the arts, including sponsorship, public grants, philanthropy, and commercial income. • Ability to interpret financial reports. 5. Strategic Thinking • Ability to act strategically, guiding an organization through change and growth • Experience in shaping and driving a vision aligned with long-term goals. 6. Communication and Interpersonal Skills • Strong communication and facilitation skills. Ability to inspire trust, build consensus, and manage differing viewpoints. 7. Professional Networks Has a network engaged in the arts world at senior levels especially fundraising, strategy, preferably with experience of working with Arts Council England, foundations and local authorities.

Time Commitment

It is vital that the Chair has the willingness, capacity and time to dedicate sufficient time to attend board meetings, events, and proactively represent the organization externally, is able to visit the organisation and be available to the Arts Centre Director on a regular basis. Attendance is required at 4-6 Board meetings annually, and at an annual awayday. You will also be part of a sub-committee which will require additional meetings. Trustees serve for a term of three years and can stand again for a further two terms.
