Are you over 21 with a wealth of life experience, a compassionate heart, and a listening ear? We need you! Our Emergency Department at Princess Royal University Hospital is looking for dedicated volunteers to help enhance the patient experience, this might be a listening ear, bringing hot cups of tea or taking patients from point to point in the hospital, maybe for their X-Rays or to grab a bite to eat.

Our Emergency Department at Princess Royal University Hospital is looking for dedicated volunteers to help enhance the patient experience. This role is ideal for anyone with a compassionate heart who can empathise with people who may be in distress, be that patients or loved ones. You may fund people very upset and frustrated or you may find people very lonely and afraid, but they could all benefit from your help.
The opportunity to play an important role in the heart of your community, showing commitment and resilience in a tough environment, perfect for those with a wealth of life experience and for those who are considering working in a care environment as a career.
We look for 3-4 hours per week and we ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months, to allow you time to get to grips with the role, understand the needs of the patients and build a connection with the staff.
