Emergency Department Volunteer - PRUH

Are you over 21 with a wealth of life experience, a compassionate heart, and a listening ear? We need you! Our Emergency Department at Princess Royal University Hospital is looking for dedicated volunteers to help enhance the patient experience, this might be a listening ear, bringing hot cups of tea or taking patients from point to point in the hospital, maybe for their X-Rays or to grab a bite to eat.

Are you over 21 with a wealth of life experience, a compassionate heart, and a listening ear? We need you! Our Emergency Department at Princess Royal University Hospital is looking for dedicated volunteers to help enhance the patient experience. Your Role: • Chatting with patients to provide comfort and companionship • Making tea and coffee to brighten someone's day • Escalating any concerns to our staff to ensure patient safety • Explain about waiting times as appropriate • Show patients and visitors what facilities are available (toilets, coffee shop etc.) Why Volunteer with Us? • Make a Difference: Your presence can bring comfort and joy to patients during challenging times. • Gain Experience: Volunteering in a hospital environment offers valuable insights and skills that can benefit your personal and professional life. • Be Part of a Community: Join a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about helping others. Time Commitment

All members of our community but we do ask for the Emergency Department Volunteers to be over the age of 21, this is due to the highly challenging nature of the environment and the different circumstances you could be presented with. For this, training is provided. If you are under 21, there are a host of other roles on offer which are suitable for younger members of our community.
