About the Role Are you passionate about buildings, design, or construction? Do you have knowledge of the building trade, project management, or design? We’re looking for skilled volunteers to help us bring our ambitious refurbishment plans for Bromley Little Theatre to life, phase by phase. This is a great opportunity to contribute your expertise to a much-loved community theatre, ensuring its continued improvement while working within the constraints of building regulations and our quirky space. Your talents and experience can make a significant difference to the future of our theatre. Key Responsibilities Design and Planning: Refine design proposals for upcoming refurbishment phases. Liaise with external consultants and contractors to ensure designs are feasible and compliant. Explain technical aspects of the design to non-technical team members, both verbally and graphically. Project Coordination: Help ensure the smooth coordination of design and construction, keeping the project on track. Appraise alternative suppliers and contractors to ensure value for money and quality. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to applicable building regulations and standards. Support the team in navigating regulatory requirements and constraints. Who Are We Looking For? We’d love to hear from you if you have one or more of the following: Experience in building design, project management, or construction trades. Knowledge of building regulations and compliance. Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-experts. A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for working as part of a team. A proactive, problem-solving attitude and attention to detail. No formal qualifications are required — we value practical experience and a willingness to contribute to our theatre’s future. Time Commitment
