This is a weekly programme aimed at engaging and entertaining senior citizens aged over 55 It takes place every Wednesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm and is held at 86-88 Vestry Road, SE5 8PQ Our goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for the seniors to enjoy their time Activities include talking and playing games A hot lunch is provided

- Capable, calm (tolerant/patient) and thorough - Good organisational skills - Ability to dedicate a minimum of 4 hours per week - Ability to commit a minimum of three months (ideally longer) - Sense of humour and perspective - Ability to encourage and support children and vulnerable adults - Ability to communicate effectively - Able to work as part of a small diverse team - Ability to maintain confidentiality - A willingness to learn and show initiative - Some roles may require a DBS check which SCH will carry out on your behalf
Firstly, you'll make a direct impact by addressing hunger and food insecurity within the community. Additionally, you'll develop essential skills such as organization, communication, and customer service, while fostering meaningful relationships with fellow volunteers and clients. Contributing to the well-being of others brings personal fulfillment and a deeper awareness of food insecurity issues. With flexible scheduling options, you can volunteer at sessions that align with your availability, all while enhancing your resume and experiencing a profound sense of purpose.
