Detailed Description

We have a new Head of Fundraising & Engagement in post who has identified the following existing and new volunteer roles which she and her team require going forward: A. Ad-hoc volunteers for events and collections - bucket shakers, helping to set up and/or run a stall at community events, leafleting in Spelthorne, Richmond, Hounslow or Ealing B. Volunteers who can take time to place and/or place or collect our collection cans in their local area of West London C. Someone who can take time to obtain prizes and gift in kind donations – confident calling, emailing or visiting local businesses/corporates to try to persuade them to donate prizes such as vouchers, tickets, hampers, etc. D. Admin volunteers that help regularly with writing and recording birthday cards, thank you cards, in memory cards and thank you letters. E. Any current users or ex-users of the Centre that are happy to come and speak at events about their experience of the Centre and its services. F. A ‘Friends Of The Mulberry Centre’ type group of volunteers that can go out to events and hold stalls and do collections on our behalf and host shopping mall events for us – you would need to feel comfortable volunteering as part of a small team, speaking to the public about our services, shake a collection can, leaflet and volunteer usually without a staff member present. G. An ‘Ambassadors’ Group’ that will go out and talk at events that we are unable to attend, especially as there will be a real focus on holding talks with community groups going forward and getting them to fundraise – you would need to be confident public speaking to a variety of audiences to spread the word and about our services and encourage and inspire them to fundraise for us. More specialist roles………. H. Grants, Trust, Major Donor, community and corporate researchers - previous experience or understanding of these funding streams and how to search for current funding opportunities required. I. A data & insights volunteer – someone who has used the Beacon system before, or similar fundraising data system and can analyse fundraising data. J. Volunteer medical professional (ex-nurse or someone with relevant medical background/knowledge) who is happy to go out and speak about cancer awareness to corporates as part of our fundraising strategy.
