Pamela Bryant reception volunteers help support the smooth running of the wards welcome to visitors. This role is best suited to volunteers who enjoy an organised and systematic approach to tasks. If you’re a confident, kind, patient, reliable and enthusiastic person this role could be perfect for you. You’ll be volunteering in a team of nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists, other healthcare professionals and volunteers to deliver a warm welcome to the ward.
About this role: Pamela Bryant reception volunteers help support the smooth running of the wards welcome to visitors. This role is best suited to volunteers who enjoy an organised and systematic approach to tasks. If you’re a confident, kind, patient, reliable and enthusiastic person; this role could be perfect for you. You’ll be volunteering in a team of nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists, other healthcare professionals and volunteers to deliver a warm welcome to the ward. No previous experience is required but if you have experience or a passion for good customer service this would be desirable. What will I be doing: • Greeting visitors when they arrive at the ward, using the intercom system to allow entry. • Answering the telephone and taking messages where necessary or transferring calls through to the appropriate person. • Passing messages onto relevant staff members. • Maintaining infection prevention and control measures around workplace and encouraging visitors to sanitise their hands upon entry to the ward. What shifts are available: • Monday-Sunday 2pm-5pm Are there any specific requirements for this role? • Organised and reliable. • Good literacy, communication and listening skills. • Friendly attitude. • Ability to use own initiative. • Aware of the principles of confidentiality in a hospital environment. The ability to maintain patient/service-users confidentiality is paramount to this role.
