Exercise Class Support Volunteer - Teddington

The Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient service provide a range of exercise and hydrotherapy classes to support their patients with rehabilitation/treatment. They are looking for volunteers to aid with the smooth running of these classes and motivate patients to reach their goals. This role will support the MSK service to provide an organised, efficient programme and improve patient’s experience.

They are looking for volunteers to aid with the smooth running of these classes and motivate patients to reach their goals. This role will support the MSK service to provide an organised, efficient programme and improve patient’s experience. What will I be doing: • Clearing away the gym equipment and arranging assessment cubicles • Setting up seating and presentation equipment • Obtaining list of attendees • Issuing information packs and exercise bands • Welcoming and checking patients in for class • Checking forms are complete/supplying forms before the class starts. • Referring to the physiotherapist if support is required to complete the form. • Reversing process after the class finishes ie removes seating etc and sets gym equipment back up • The volunteer is not required to support during the class itself. Other volunteer duties can be provided during this time. What shifts are available: • 1st & 3rd Monday each month 9.00 – 11.30 (Teddington Memorial Hospital) Are there any specific requirements for this role? • An interest in health, wellbeing, and fitness. • Good at motivating and encouraging people to reach their goals. • Physically able to stand and/or move around the hospital site with ease for the duration of a shift. Minimum commitment of 2 shifts (2.5 hours each) per month, (1st and 3rd Mondays) for at least 6 months.
